Homemade Super Stain Remover

Homemade Super Stain Remover

This homemade super stain remover recipe was sent in by one of our lovely customers who has been an avid follower of Wendyl’s Green Goddess since the company started almost ten years ago.

I know I’ve shared a few stain removers before, but this one comes with a gold star! You only need three ingredients to make it and it’s tough on hard to move stains that even commercial stain removers can’t budge.

Homemade Super Stain Remover

1 part Green Goddess Hemp & Eucalyptus Dish Wash Liquid or other natural dish wash

2 parts hydrogen peroxide

1 tsp Green Goddess Premium Baking Soda

Mix the ingredients together very well. Apply to the stain with an old toothbrush or similar.

Leave for 5 – 10 minutes or until the stain is starting to lift out. For tough stains leave on the stain for up to an hour, repeat if needed. Wash as usual.

I used it on wool and on delicate filter curtains and it seemed fine but I’d test on a very small part first if you’re concerned. Is great on white items.

Store in a glass jar.

I have updated the recipe with notes from the lady who supplied it. She did use it on wool and delicate fabrics but suggests trying it on a small part of the fabric if you’re concerned. She mostly used it on white stained items. However hydrogen peroxide SHOULD ok on colour fast items, it’s best to do a small test first.

  1. Like the other comment, I do wonder if this would be okay on colours given that this has hydrogen peroxide in it.
    Thanks.

  2. Like the other comment, I would be concerned about using this on colours given the hydrogen peroxide. Is it okay for this?

  3. Like the other comment I would be concerned using this on coloured fabric given the peroxide. Is this ok??

Haven’t tried that, could create a chemical reaction that’s not great. The two recipes we have on file use baking soda.
